With a strong commitment to excellence in math education, Mrs. Gosine and Mr. Calabrese bring a wealth of expertise to HSPT preparation, equipping students with the skills and strategies needed to excel on the exam and beyond!
Mr. Calabrese is a dedicated and accomplished math educator with 15 years of teaching experience, including 13 years in middle school mathematics and two years specializing in high school algebra. As a passionate Algebra teacher, he is committed to fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and building students’ confidence in problem-solving. Recognized for excellence in teaching, Mr. Calabrese was honored as the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year nominee in Marion County, FL, a testament to his impact in the classroom and dedication to student success.
Beyond teaching, Mr. Calabrese plays an active role in advancing math education, having served as a member of the Instructional Math Council and collaborating on curriculum development and best practices. Their leadership extends to organizing targeted small-group sessions for students preparing to excel on the HSPT, ensuring that all learners receive the support they need to achieve their goals. Additionally, as a Team Collaborator for Academy Days, Mr. Calabrese worked alongside fellow educators to create enriching learning experiences that inspire academic growth.
Mrs. Gosine is a dedicated educator with 15 years of teaching experience, including five years as a middle school reading teacher. With a Master’s degree in Reading and certification as a Reading Specialist, Mrs. Gosine is highly skilled in literacy instruction, helping students strengthen their comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. Their undergraduate degree in Elementary Education provides a strong foundation in effective teaching strategies that support diverse learners.
Passionate about student success, Mrs. Gosine is committed to equipping students with the reading and analytical skills needed to excel on the HSPT and beyond. Through engaging instruction, targeted interventions, and research-based strategies, they create a supportive learning environment that helps students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
